QUARTERS

Turbo Quarters Rules (2v2)

Objective:

The objective of the game is to bounce as many quarters as you can into a cup and finish drinking a 12 oz beer within sixty seconds.

Setup:

To play Turbo Quarters, you will need 1 official Pro Beer Sports table, 2 official Pro Beer Sports cups, 2 official Pro Beer Sports quarters boards, 4 official Pro Beer Sports glass mugs, 4 bowls, and 100 quarters.

  • The official Pro Beer Sports table dimensions are 8’ (length) x 2’ (width) x 2.5’ (height).

  • The official Pro Beer Sports cups are 22 oz fluted stadium cups.

  • The official Pro Beer Sports quarters boards are 24” (length) x 6” (width) x 1” (height).

  • The official Pro Beer Sports glass mug is 16 oz.

Pour 1 full 12 oz beer into each glass mug. Fill each bowl with 25 quarters. Place 1 quarters board in each end quadrant of the table. Line up the board in the center of the quadrant while touching both long ends of the table. Place 1 cup in the middle of each board. Set 1 mug and 1 bowl of quarters on the table next to each of the 4 short ends of the quarters boards.

Who goes first:

Both teams start at the same time. The timer will give a countdown (3, 2, 1, GO!) and the players may begin drinking and/or bouncing quarters.

Gameplay:

Both players on the same team stand facing each other at the same quarters board. Each player has their own glass mug of beer and a bowl of quarters. Beers and quarters must be untouched on the table until the game begins. Once the timer starts, each player has 60 seconds to drink all the beer in the mug and bounce as many quarters into the cup that they can. Players may drink while bouncing quarters or rotate between drinking and bouncing. Quarters must be bounced off the quarters table and go into the cup unassisted to count.

At the end of 60 seconds, players stop bouncing quarters and their mugs must be on the table. Any quarters bounced after time is called do not count. If a player’s mug isn’t on the table at the end of the 60 seconds, that is an automatic disqualification. If a player doesn’t finish their beer, their team is disqualified.

Winning:

The timer counts how many quarters each team managed to bounce into their cup. The team with the most quarters that also finished their beer wins.

If teams have the same number of quarters, the game will be decided with a “Bounce Off”. A Bounce Off means each team chooses one of the players who just bounced for sixty seconds to represent them. They will play “Rock-Paper-Scissors” and the winner bounces first. Each player will take turns bouncing back and forth until someone bounces a quarter into the cup. Once one quarter has been successfully bounced into the cup, the next player to miss loses the game.

Special Rules:

Refs will need to determine if a beer is finished and if players spill too much while drinking. Leaving beer in the mug or spilling too much while drinking can lead to a disqualification.

FAQ:

What happens if I knock my quarters cup over?

If you knock your cup completely over, that will be a disqualification.

What happens if my bowl runs out of quarters?

Players may start grabbing quarters off the table or ground around them to find more quarters to bounce within the 60 seconds.

Are distractions allowed?

Respectful distractions are allowed, but not over the cups or table. All players must also always remain on their side of the table during a game. You may not blow or try to generate wind in any way towards the table as a distraction. You may not try to shake the ground or table as a distraction. Personal insults will not be tolerated, be more creative.
